Commercial and residential building projects use conduit to run wires and power sources across their roofs. The Universal® Clamp was designed to provide a safe and easy way to mount the conduit to the roof. The conduit can be secured to the Universal® Clamp through the top or side mounted 3/8 – 16 bolt on the standard clamp.
Universal® Conduit Clamps can also feature a t-slotted base. This allows a t-shaped die to be inserted into the top of the base and attached to the conduit. This provides end users customized methods to attach conduits to the Universal® Clamp.
Universal® Conduit Clamps are designed and constructed using the highest quality aluminum and Stainless Steel components. Because of these features, the Universal® Clamp will not rust, deform, or break down when exposed to the elements.
Universal® Conduit Clamps can be shipped directly to any location. Pre-assembled Universal® Conduit Clamps can be shipped pre-assembled, meaning all hardware (ie: set-screws and mounting fasteners) come installed into the clamp body. The conduit clamps can also be shipped disassembled with all the hardware sent in separately labeled bags to assure all parts are accounted for.
Universal® Conduit Clamps come in two different standard sizes: 2″ long or 1″ long, XS version. The XS clamp is the perfect solution when mounting lightweight items such as conduit. The Universal® Conduit Clamp can also be custom engineered to any meet any custom length requirements.
The Universal® Clamp was tested at a certified laboratory and has achieved high parallel and perpendicular to the seam shear and tension results. Test reports are available for both perpendicular and parallel forces to the roof seam and can be provided for both clamp sizes upon request or reviewed by clicking here.
Universal® Clamps feature patented hammers on one or both sides of the clamp. Currently, four standard hammer types are available for standing seams: standard, round, thin, and L-shaped. The Universal® Clamp’s hammer area can also be custom engineered to fit onto non-standard standing seams.
The only tool required to install a Universal® Conduit Clamp is a 3/16″ allen drive. The clamp is simply placed onto the standing seam surface at the desired attachment point, and then the set-screws are tightened or loosened on each side to accurately rotate the hammers, this action applies an evenly distributed clamping force to the standing seam.
It is recommended that 16-20 ft/lb of torque be applied to the set-screws to achieve maximum holding force. Universal® Clamps feature rotating hammers which prevent the set screws from ever coming into contact with the seam of the roof, preventing holes and other damage form being worn into the roof.
